Brewers edge Sox... Pitchers duel comes down to the last inning... Last night the Red Sox and Brewers met for the first time this season and the game, as expected, was another beauty in what seems to be a very competitive BVB... The Sox fell to the Brewers 2 - 1 in a tight game that came down to a passed ball with runners on 2nd and 3rd to give the Brewers the win... The Brew Crew took the lead in the 2nd on an unearned run off Sox started Joe Davis but that was all they could muster until the bottom of the 7th... The Sox tied the game in the 4th when Chris McCullough led off with a triple and was banged in by Matt Baird... Unfortunately the Sox offence couldn't put a few more hits together in the inning and stranded runners on 2nd and 3rd to come up with only the single run... In the game the Sox had 7 hits and stranded 7 runners while the Brewers bats were held to only 4 hits while they also stranded 7 base runners... The Sox pitching which has been spectacular this year continued their majesty on the mound by again giving up only 4 hits and 1 earned run... The Sox have only given up 15 runs in 8 games while the team ERA is 1.47... The Sox now get Father's Day off this Sunday and next face the Cubs on Tuesday June 23rd at 6:00pm over at Nelson Park... The Sox Hope to see you at the yard...1 |
